Your Own Biological Liquid Gold
The delicate skin under the eyes is the thinnest on the entire body. Sometimes, when people have eyes that look constantly tired or puffy, the issue isn't a lack of volume, but a lack of tissue integrity. At Scout Aesthetics, we use PRP undereye treatment to address the root cause of dark circles, thinning skin, and poor blood flow, using your own growth factors. It’s about repair, not just padding.
This treatment uses what we call "liquid gold." We take a small blood sample and spin it down to isolate the platelet rich plasma. When we perform PRP injections into the tear trough, it triggers your body to stimulate collagen production and thicken the delicate undereye area naturally. It is a sophisticated, long-game solution for those who want a refreshed appearance without the weight of traditional fillers.
Cellular Regeneration Does the Heavy Lifting
PRP undereye treatment is a regenerative injection that uses your own growth factors to stimulate collagen and elastin production.
By isolating platelets from a blood sample and injecting them into the treatment area, we trigger the body’s natural healing process to thicken the skin and naturally brighten dark circles.
PRP Undereye Treatment At A Glance
No More Heavy Lifting
Using your own blood is often the smartest way to address the undereye area. Unlike synthetic aesthetic procedures, PRP therapy works with your anatomy to strengthen the skin from the inside out.
Biology’s Best Kept Secret
We often prefer PRP treatment for our younger patients or those dealing with crepey skin. Traditional fillers can sometimes look heavy in the hollows, or even cause filler fatigue where the weight of the gel stretches the delicate skin further over time. PRP undereye treatment avoids this entirely.
It also addresses the circulation factor. While filler can hide a hollow, it can't fix the purple cast caused by sluggish blood vessels. But PRP can. For a total reset, we sometimes pair PRP undereye treatment with laser resurfacing to address both the surface skin tone and the deeper tissue regeneration at once.
The Can Do List
We use PRP platelet rich plasma to strengthen thin, crepey texture and provide a natural volume increase through cellular regeneration. It is an excellent tool for brightening dark circles when they are caused by poor circulation or thinning skin that allows blood vessels to show through. Because it encourages elastin production, the skin in the treatment area becomes more resilient and handles fine lines much better over time.
However, it is important to manage expectations for what PRP therapy generally cannot do. If your primary concern is genetic fat pads or heavy eyebags, this treatment won't make those disappear. Those issues are usually structural or related to fat displacement, which may require surgical interventions or specific laser resurfacing to address. During our consultation, we’ll review whether your anatomy will actually respond to PRP undereye treatment or if a different path is better.
The Ideal Candidate
We recommend this treatment for patients who are noticing the first signs of hollows or tired eyes but aren't looking for the immediate volume of a filler. If you have thinning skin that looks like parchment paper or shadows caused by sluggish blood flow, you’re likely a great fit. We usually suggest this path for those who prefer a cleaner alternative and want to see gradual improvement in their undereye appearance.
While PRP treatment is very safe because we use your own blood, this procedure may not be right for you if you have certain blood disorders, low platelet counts, or active infections in the treated area. We also need to be cautious if you are on specific blood thinners that could affect the quality of the platelet rich plasma. We will go over your full medical history during your clinic consult to make sure this is the safest and most effective treatment for you.
Your Treatment Experience
Note from Jennifer Fick, DNP: "I treat the undereye area with extreme care. During the entire process, we perform a blood draw and spin it in a centrifuge to isolate the liquid gold. I use a fine needle to place the concentrated growth factors exactly where the skin is thinnest. You’ll feel a little bit of pressure, but the topical numbing cream makes it very manageable."
Every treatment starts with a clinic consult where we map out your 12-month eye plan. We use a protocol for our PRP extraction, ensuring we get concentrated plasma with high platelet counts. While we are separating the red blood cells from the platelets, you’ll sit with a topical numbing cream for about 25 minutes.
To reduce the risk of a little bit of bruising, we’ll ask you to avoid blood thinners like ibuprofen or aspirin, along with fish oil, vitamin E, and flaxseed oil for about 48 hours before you come in. If you are on prescribed blood thinners, please do not stop them without talking to your doctor.
The Big Reveal
Even though this is your own biology, you should expect some mild swelling. You will look puffy for about 24 to 72 hours while your body initiates the healing process and tissue repair. The swelling typically subsides quickly. You can return to normal activities almost immediately, though I'd avoid vigorous exercise for 48 hours.
PRP treatment moves at the speed of biology. You won't see a change overnight because collagen production takes time. Most patients see the best results after a series of three treatments, spaced about four to six weeks apart. By the third month, you’ll notice a gradual improvement in skin texture and undereye appearance.
Perfection Is A Process
The undereye area is vascularly complex, which is why precision matters.
Jennifer Fick, DNP is the founder and lead injector at Scout Aesthetics, and she brings advanced medical training, a strong understanding of facial anatomy, and a thoughtful, safety-first approach to every treatment. She is known for natural-looking results and takes time to evaluate each patient’s anatomy, skin quality, and goals before recommending a plan.
Jennifer firmly believes in the importance of continued education. She regularly attends advanced and master-level injectable trainings, participates in cadaver-based anatomy courses, and stays current on modern aesthetic techniques and safety practices. For PRP in the undereye area, that level of ongoing training allows her to approach treatment with greater precision, better judgment, and a long-term view of your results.

It depends on the goal. Filler adds volume instantly, but it can look heavy. PRP treatment is for patients who want to improve skin texture and fix the root cause of tired eyes over time.
It’s a very quick, routine draw, similar to a blood test. The Scout Aesthetics team is experienced in making this part of the treatment as easy and comfortable as possible.
For best results, we almost always recommend a series of three treatments. This gives your body enough signals to increase blood flow and produce a meaningful amount of new collagen.
Yes. The healing properties of platelet rich plasma are widely used for hair restoration as well. We offer those services here at Scout for patients looking to rejuvenate thinning areas.
Yes. Because we are using the patient's blood, there is no risk of allergic reactions to the concentrated plasma itself.
Platelet rich fibrin (PRF) is often called the second generation of PRP. While we focus on PRP undereye treatment for its tissue regeneration benefits, we can discuss which regenerative power is right for your skin during your consult.
